Redirect Rx team members collaborating on global health logistics

Our mission

Medications that would be wasted can save lives.

Redirect Rx is a medication redistribution platform connecting retailers and pharmaceutical companies with hospitals and humanitarian non-profits worldwide.

Why we exist

The gap between waste and need is a logistics problem. We solve it.

Every year, billions of dollars in usable over-the-counter medications are destroyed simply because they are approaching their expiration date. Meanwhile, hospitals and clinics in under-resourced communities around the world struggle to maintain even basic medication supply.

Redirect Rx was founded in 2018 on a simple belief: that the distance between surplus and scarcity is bridgeable. We built the platform, the compliance framework, and the partnerships to make redistribution safe, legal, and scalable.

What drives us

Our values

01

Urgency

People are going without medication today. We move fast, cut red tape, and prioritize getting medications where they are needed.

02

Integrity

Every donation is tracked, verified, and documented. Donors receive full compliance support and tax documentation.

03

Equity

Access to basic medication should not depend on geography or income. We work to close that gap, one shipment at a time.

04

Transparency

We publish our impact data openly. Donors and recipients alike can see exactly where medications go and who they help.

The people behind Redirect Rx

Our team

D

Dr. James Ryan

Founder, CEO & M.D.

By his early 30s, James had built a multi-million dollar portfolio through independent day trading — retiring before most people hit their stride. But after a volunteer trip to a clinic in rural Haiti with no basic medications, he walked away from the markets, went back to school, earned his MD, and put his capital to work on something he couldn't trade away from.

S

Sarah Fenly

Lead Outreach

Sarah was a junior at CU Boulder studying international relations when she signed up for a volunteer trip to Haiti on a whim — just a college kid who wanted to do something that mattered. She met James at that same clinic, watched him have the same moment she was having, and the two stayed in touch. When he called years later to say he was building Redirect Rx, she was the first person he called and the first to say yes.

M

Marc Ruiz

Head of Logistics

Marc spent 25 years moving commerce around the world as shipping manager for a handful of companies. Ranging from regional distributors to global freight operations, he has seen every way a supply chain can break down. He joined Redirect Rx to make sure medications are the one thing that always gets through.
